OpenSignal, a well-known mobile analytics company, just launched their first new type of report focused on mobile videos. The report named the Global State of Mobile Video aims to explore the mobile video experience of users across 69 countries, the Philippines included. Eleven of the 69 countries received a very good rating based on OpenSignal's video experience scale. This means mobile videos loaded relatively quickly and rarely paused even at high resolutions. OpenSignal also concluded that video experience and connection speeds are more closely linked at countries with slow internet. Smart Communications has received the Best Mobile Video Experience award from Ookla, recognizing the company’s performance in mobile video streaming. According to Ookla’s analysis, Smart achieved a Video Score of 78.60, placing it ahead of other mobile operators in the Philippines. A Digital 2026 report by Meltwater and We Are Social found that Filipinos spend about 20.48 hours per week watching online videos, among the highest globally.
