#Philippines mobile internet ranking

The Philippines places 110th in the global mobile internet speeds with an average download of 18Mbps, as of November 2020. Also worth noting is that the countries with the fastest mobile internet speeds have received significant government support. Based on Ookla Global Speedtest Index for November 2020 rankings, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) tops the global list with the average mobile internet speeds of 170.30Mbps, followed by South Korea (166.70Mbps), Qatar (159.66Mbps), China (148.12Mbps), and Australia (113.16Mbps), sporting the top two to five, respectively. On the other hand, South Korea tops the Asia Pacific list with the average mobile internet speeds of 166.70Mbps. Other countries in the Asia Pacific, which have average mobile internet speeds of over 70Mbps, include China (148.12Mbps), Australia (113.16Mbps), Singapore (71.32), and Hongkong (70.62). It's also worth noting that the countries with the highest global average for mobile internet have substantial government support. To recall, the Philippines placed 111th in the global ranking in October 2020. Two US-based satellite internet providers are expected to launch in the Philippines this year, according to the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
