Not all of us have access to external displays, but you can still experience a desktop-like screen mainly on your smartphone. My choices were mostly based on large-screen, touchscreen smartphones -- one major area where the iPhone claims supremacy. However, if you are open to trying out a new interface, I'm sure you'll enjoy the intuitive touch screen of the iPhone. In iPod mode, the iPhone makes it a little hard to navigate between songs as controls are done via touchscreen.
