Sony has announced the discontinuation of its PlayStation Stars loyalty program, which debuted in 2022. As the company phases out PlayStation Stars, players are encouraged to redeem their accumulated points before the final shutdown date. According to Sony, the special offer will cover purchases of the PlayStation VR with PlayStation Camera, DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controllers (selected colors) and selected PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 software from August 23 to September 5. Offers are available at all PlayStations Authorized Dealers and Sony Stores while stocks last. Note that this is open to buyers within the Philippines only, and cannot be combined with other PlayStation promos. Sony introduces a new PlayStation device, the PS5 VR controller. PlayStation's new controller is designed spherically, allowing the player to hold it more naturally. "This enables you to make more natural gestures with your hands during gameplay," said Hideaki Nishino, head of platform planning and management at PlayStation.
