PLDT home has upgraded the internet speeds of existing subscribers starting with Plan 1699 at 200Mbps which is now at 300Mbps. PLDT has started offering faster home internet with speeds of up to 300 Mbps under its PLDT Home Fiber Prepaid service. PLDT said the goal is to give households more reliable and flexible internet as more daily activities move online. Microsoft has quietly introduced a new internet speed test feature in Windows 11, giving users a quicker way to check their connection directly from the taskbar. Beyond measuring internet speed, the page also includes additional tools such as a stopwatch, timer, typing test, and QR code generator, turning it into a lightweight utility hub. PLDT and Google’s Taara project have brought fiber-like internet to Barangay Subay in Talim Island, Rizal without laying a single underwater cable. If scalable, this light-based backhaul approach could become a practical solution for delivering high-speed internet to communities where laying fiber simply isn’t feasible.
