Sony has announced that it will gradually shut down the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PlayStation Vita (PS Vita). Sony has announced in their blog post that they are shutting down the PlayStation Store for the PS Vita and PS3. In all remaining countries, the PlayStation Store for both the PS3 and PS Vita will close in July 2027. According to Sony, the closure is necessary due to the PS3 and PS Vita platforms can no longer support the modern payment processing and commerce systems used by the PlayStation Store.
