QR codes, or Quick Response codes, have been around for a while now. It is the trademark for a type of matrix barcode consisting of black squares arranged in a square grid against a white background. QR codes are used to log into websites or share WiFi network logins. The banking industry has also taken advantage of QR codes because of its convenience and security. BPI uses them for peer-to-peer transfer (individual accounts) of funds. It’s easier to have these QR codes now with BPI’s QR code generator using its new online and mobile banking platforms. All you need to do is log on to the beta versions of BPI Online and BPI Mobile app. Then go to Other Services, click on QR Generator, then choose the account number that you want to get a QR Code for. From there, you can save the QR code in your Photo Gallery and send it to people who need to transfer money to you.
