Qualcomm recently announced their newest innovation which fully integrates a 5G NR mmWave (millimeter wave) antenna module family along with a sub-6 GHz RF module for smartphones and other mobile devices. The QTM052 mmWave antenna module paired with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem makes it possible to integrate mmWave signals in a smartphone despite the fact that it not used for mobile wireless connections due to complications with its design. Qualcomm Technologies’ early investment in 5G has allowed us to deliver to the industry a working mobile mmWave solution that was previously thought unattainable, as well as a fully-integrated sub-6 GHz RF solution.
