Several ride-hailing and motorcycle taxi platforms in the Philippines have begun reducing their commission rates in response to rising fuel prices, following discussions in a congressional hearing. For four-wheel ride-hailing, Grab reduced its commission from around 20–21% to 18%. Lalamove will soon be launching its ride-hailing service in the Philippines this month. This sets a precedent for ride-hailing services in the Philippines. The new ride-hailing service will go live through the same mobile app on Google Play Store and App Store. Lalamove is expanding its ride-hailing service by offering better income opportunities for drivers, including a 2% commission rate and weekly incentives. One driver in Antipolo said the model helps him earn more for his family, while another noted he can switch between ride-hailing and deliveries to maximize income throughout the day. PeekUp is a new online ride hailing app now available in the Philippines.
