A new web app called Rush PH now allows commuters in Metro Manila to check real-time arrival estimates for LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3 trains. The app runs on mobile browsers and is designed to work smoothly even on low-end smartphones. Rush PH uses crowd-sourced data from commuters who report train sightings. The app was created by Filipino developer Joshua Bumanlag, a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. Inspired by efficient train systems in other countries such as Singapore and Thailand, Bumanlag designed Rush PH to offer a simple and free solution to the lack of timely updates in the local train system.
