Samsung is planning on making the "smart" home fantasy a reality as they make a big push to improve their IoT (Internet of Things) services. During today's Samsung Developer conference, the company, aside from revealing Bixby 2.0, also announced that they are merging all of their IoT services namely SmartThings, Samsung Connect, and ARTIK under one platform -- SmartThings Cloud. Not only that but the platform will be an open ecosystem, which means it will support both Samsung and third-party devices. Samsung promises that as early as next year, consumers will be able to choose from a broad range of IoT devices and control them by using only a single app. To bypass long-standing infrastructure bottlenecks and total signal dead zones, the mobile service hubs are heavily outfitted with specialized satellite-powered connectivity terminals. Through the satellite-connected mobile hubs, field personnel can assist provincial residents with real-time digital identity verification, navigating the unified digital National ID wallet, and processing transactions across integrated agencies.
