The company said the new chip will power future flagship WearOS smartwatches and other AI-powered wearables such as smart pins and pendants. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon Wear Elite offers up to five times faster CPU performance and up to seven times better graphics performance compared with the previous Snapdragon W5+ Gen 2 chip. Qualcomm said the AI engine can handle models with up to two billion parameters and deliver up to 12 TOPS of AI performance. Qualcomm said devices powered by Snapdragon Wear Elite may support fast charging, allowing a smartwatch to reach 50% battery in less than 10 minutes.
