Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch its first AI-powered smart glasses, codenamed “N50,” in 2026, positioning the device as a sleek alternative to bulky headsets and a direct competitor to Meta’s Ray-Ban Meta and Xreal’s Air series. Meta’s Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which combine a 12 MP camera, open-ear speakers, and live translation, launched locally on April 30, 2025, through authorized retailers and online outlets, though some AI functions remain region-locked. Samsung and Google announced a new line of AI-powered smart glasses. Created in partnership with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker, the glasses work as a companion device for smartphones. Samsung says the smart glasses are designed to offer hands-free access to AI while blending in with familiar eyewear styles.
