Sony has just announced the latest addition to its Alpha line-up of cameras, the Alpha 9 II. The successor of the Alpha 9, the Alpha 9 II features an updated BIONZ X image processing, continuous shooting at up to 20 fps with Auto Focus and Auto Exposure tracking, up to 10fps with a mechanical shutter, 60 times per second AF/AE calculations. It has the same 35mm full-frame stacked 24.2MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor as the original Alpha 9. Pricing and availability of the Sony Alpha 9 are yet to be announced. Sony has announced the Alpha 7R VI, the latest model in its high-resolution Alpha 7R camera series. Sony says the camera supports up to 30fps continuous shooting, 8K video recording, and improved autofocus tracking with AI-based subject recognition. The Alpha 7R VI also introduces a new NP-SA100 battery, a 9.44-million-dot OLED viewfinder, and support for Sony’s Camera Authenticity Solution for image verification. Alongside the camera, Sony also introduced the XLR-A4 XLR adaptor for professional audio recording with support for 32-bit float recording.
