Sony has unveiled its new Bravia TV lineup for 2024, doubling down on mini-LED with the flagship Bravia 9, offering a compelling OLED option in the Bravia 8, and keeping things affordable with the entry-level Bravia 3. Flagship mini LED Bravia 9 This year's crown jewel boasts a massive brightness leap (50% more than last year's X95L) thanks to a next-gen mini-LED backlight. Sony claims it delivers both highlights and deeper blacks, blurring the lines between mini-LED and OLED. Along with Dolby Vision support, the Bravia 9 packs all the gaming essentials: 4K 120Hz refresh rate, VRR for smooth visuals, and auto low-latency mode (ALLM) for lightning-fast response times. OLED contender Bravia 8 The mid-range Bravia 8 takes the OLED route with a slimmer W-OLED panel, offering a 10% brightness boost over its predecessor and putting it in the same ballpark as LG's C4. It shares many features with the Bravia 9, including Dolby Vision/Atmos support, gaming features, and image calibration modes. Mini-LED value Bravia 7 The Bravia 7 is Sony's answer to affordable mini-LED. While it shares many features with the Bravia 9, it trades some peak brightness and backlight dimming zones for a more attractive price tag.
