Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially announced the price of the PlayStation 5 (PS5) console and its launch date. The PS5 Digital Edition is priced at USD 399.99 / JPY 39,980 / EUR 399.99, while the PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive is priced at USD 499.99 / JPY 49,980 / EUR 499.99. Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 (PS5) console is up for pre-order, however, you have to be invited first. According to Sony, only a limited quantity of PS5 consoles are available for pre-order, so they only invited some of their existing consumers to be one of the first to pre-order a unit. Sony says that each invitation is open for a limited time and quantities are limited per PSN ID per transaction: 1x PS5 Console or 1 PS5 Digital Edition 2x DualSense wireless controllers 2x DualSense charging stations 2x Pulse 3D wireless headsets 2x Media remotes 2x HD Cameras Pre-order reservations will be taken on a first-come-first-serve basis. The Sony PlayStation 5, arguably in the latter stages of its product life cycle, has had its price bumped up to PHP 40K. Sony's official announcement determines these price increases were a "necessary step to ensure [the continued delivery] of innovative, high-quality gaming experiences to players worldwide."
