Substack says, “It’s like your email inbox, but better.” Substack reader app will bring readers’ newsletter subscriptions altogether into one inbox. Substack says the app is “Like your email inbox, but better.” Featuring an email-like inbox but allows users to pause email delivery of newsletters, instead of opting only to receive mobile notifications. “The app helps bring together Substack as an ecosystem, giving you an icon to tap on your home screen that opens up a treasury of quality work by the writers you most trust,” the company wrote in their announcement. The said platform also allows individual writers and creators to send digital newsletters directly to their subscribers thru a content management system (CMS). Substack is a newsletter-creation tool for writers, rather than a website builder. Their business model is simple — in exchange for the tools it provides writers, Substack makes money by charging a 10% commission of every paid subscriber. Writers who chose not to monetize their content can use Substack for free.
