TikTok is pushing deeper into generative AI with a new feature called AI Alive, a tool that allows users to animate photos into dynamic short videos using simple text prompts. Available via TikTok’s Story Camera, the feature is part of the platform’s broader goal to simplify content creation—even for users with no video editing experience. According to TikTok, the tool uses “intelligent editing” to breathe life into static images, adding motion, atmospheric effects, and creative visual elements. TikTok’s entry into generative AI video joins a fast-growing space already populated by tools like Runway, Pika, and Adobe’s experimental offerings. However, what sets AI Alive apart is its user-first focus: it’s designed to be accessible to casual creators without advanced tech skills, expanding TikTok’s appeal beyond traditional video-making tools.
