The TikTok ban in the US has been delayed for 75 days. It aims to “pursue a resolution that protects national security while saving a platform (TikTok) used by 170 million Americans.” In addition, president-elect Trump has proposed a joint venture between ByteDance and the US government. To preserve national security, Trump says that the deal would end up with the latter owning 50% of TikTok. For now, TikTok is slated to resume operations in the US. The US ban on TikTok has been undone with President-elect Trump being credited for the restored service. As per this post on X, Trump was credited for TikTok’s return within less than a day of being banned.
