Toyota Motor Philippines has launched a Special Service Campaign for the Curtain Shield Airbag Computer on some units of Toyota Rush. The Special Service Campaign covers the 12,124 Toyota Rush units officially sold in the Philippine market which were produced from April 2, 2018, to February 7, 2019. Toyota says that some Toyota Rush units may have issues in the programming of their airbag electric control units (ECU) which may cause the Curtain Shield Airbags to deploy upon impact on the rear wheel, such as running over a pothole. Toyota Motor Philippines will notify the concerned customers through Official Notification Letters. As part of Toyota Motor Corp's recall of 6.39 million vehicles worldwide, Toyota Motor Philippines is recalling Innova, Fortuner, and Hilux units sold in the country from November 2004 to June 2010. There are, however, no incidents reported related to this condition." To address the problem, Toyota Motor Philippines launched its "Special Service Campaign" to have the faulty parts replaced free of charge. "In line with Toyota’s firm commitment on product safety and quality, Toyota Motor Philippines will issue a Special Service Campaign (SSC) on the affected models.
