Toyota Philippines recently launched the 2013 Toyota Vios, with six (6) different variants of manual and automatic transmissions.

The re-designed Vios looked more masculine with the wide front grills. It has some semblance with the Honda City and the Mitsubishi Lancer EX.

Here’s the complete list of variants and suggested retail prices:

I understand Toyota sell its car using its leasing. If so pls quote me the lease downpayment and monthly payments using its maximum number of months to pay on Vios base model and Vios lowest priced Model with automatic. transmission.

i suggest you to personally visit a toyota branch oag tungkol na sa mga ganyan =) sila ang magbibigay ng mga eksaktong babayaran nyo depende sa kung ilang months to pay,at downpayment ang magiging monthly payment =) kahit po kase bawat toyota branch nakikipagkumitensya din sa isatisa =) may ibang branch kase na kayang tumanggap ng sobrang babangdownpayment basta makuha lng ung kliyente =)

Jusko mga utak nyo eh no?? Guys i own a vios 2012 model. Pinili ko to over a higher end model like altis, civic, and focus. my dad says ksi na kung dmo kaya ang gas expenses ng sasakyan mo, settle for a unit na matipid. money na pambili was not an issue that time. since ako ang gagastos for my own gas kea i settled sa vios and soo happy with it coz it’s gas saving sobra. Issues about ginagwang taxi? True kc nga gas efficient sya. Sa economy ngayon mas mdami may guso ng matipid sa gas. Just because nakikita nyo pang taxi e low class na. Sa mga kapwa ko drivers alam ko u know where i stand.

@ inge it can go as much as 20 km/L or morebased on toyota’s statistics,pero for average use you can have 10km/L more or less in city driving

At first I was torn between this and Honda Jazz. My mom and I decided to go with the Honda Jazz and I’m happy we picked the right car. Maganda rin itong Vios per for me, mas class ang Honda Jazz. Mas matipid pa ang Jazz kesa sa VIOS as per DOE po ha. Not an expert on cars, I just read that Jazz ranked 3rd while Vios ranked 10th as the most fuel efficient vechile in the country today. Anyway, happy riding na lang sa ating lahat and I’m wishing everything safe driving. God Bless

For me it is about practicality. as long as it serve’s my purpose to get me to point A to point B, then i have no problem whatever car it is.

I am a 2nd Gen vios owner, me and my wife choose it over a chevy cruize 1.0 because we needed a bigger space and back seat for 2 babies.

So ang bottom line us ung main purpose for buying a car will be your basis. Kung for luxury or convinience. Personal preference parin ang pag pili ng car.

It all depends on where you live. What car you buy. And what car is used as taxis. I remembered that Honda Civics are used as taxis in Taiwan. Toyota Crown is used as taxis in Japan. But then the taxi drivers in Japan are in white uniform, white hat and white gloves. What about the taxi drivers here?

Utak pinoy tlga! Di nmn porket ginagawang taxi eh low class na. Sa isip nlng yan ng tao palibhasa ang ibang ponoy eh makitid ang isip. Di nyo lng alam sa ibang bansa ang taxi nila dun audi, bmw, volkswagen, at chrysler. Mga mataa s na brand ng sasakyan.

Remember a time when cars made into taxis gets their side mirrors stolen. Because those taxi owners buy their replacement (2nd hand) side mirrors from Banaue. Reason why I don’t like buying cars that were made into taxis. Easily prone to theft. If car-napped, difficult to trace. That is the trade-off.

Unfortunately, the answer is YES. You said it there, “Legal”. Once you buy a Honda car there is a clause that will prohibit the owner from using it as public utility vehicle.

With floods getting higher, I think car makers should start thinking of offering vehicles with high clearance like SUVs and pick ups but cheaper.
These kind of cars are no longer viable in our streets. I can only imagine the worrying thoughts a driver would experience when stuck in heavy traffic during a heavy downpour with water rising fast. Personally, I have already abandon considering sedans and other low clearance vehicles in buying one.

This is a subcompact econocar. Kung gusto nyong magpakasosyal mag BMW o Benz kayo. Andami dito minamaliit ang Vios dahil ginagawang taxi. Bakit sa tingin nyo ba sosyal yung mga subcompact nyo porket di ginagawang taxi? This is why I dont like Honda, ang yayabang ng mga gumagamit. Kahit naka City or Jazz lang feeling sosyal na.

ano naman kung gawing taxi ang vios?
yung mga poor na pilit nag mamayaman lang na aapektuhan ng ganung pag iisip. kasi nga insecure. :)

Logic. Why people choose vios as taxi over other brand? Simple. Fuel efficient at matipid. Di ka naman cguro mag business ng palugi. Negative connotation lng ang pag vios taxi na agad! Lets look on the brighter side. Kaya nga cya ginagawang taxi dahil matipid. Kaya kung mag vios ka. Isipin mo ang laking pera matitipid mo in terms of gas and maintenance and parts. Rather than the the other way around.

but Honda cars are matipid too especially mga bagong labas, dahil sinali na yan sa equation nila para maibenta ang car nila, my Honda jazz almost 5 years old na sobrang tipid ng gas ang budget ko per month is so maliit…not to mention easy on eyes too…and btw…hindi ka payagan ng Honda gawin taxi kotse nila ang unang isntruction sa akin when i bought mine, bawal gawin taxi dahil may corresponding penalty isampa sa yo, thats is the reason why you cannot see a single Honda car na ginawang taxi…info lang po to at walang kinalaman LOGIC etchos mo no?

@ariel do u have datas na matipid ang jazz? Am working in toyota and we have data na magpapatunay na matipid sa gas ang vios. The Batman Vios in the market for 1.3 variant consumes 23km/liter on a city driving. How much more pa ang new vios where in even its longer. They’ve used lighter materials and it will be 3% more fuel efficient than the Batman Vios. San data ng Honda?

Honda has their own image to protect that why they dont want their vehicle to become a taxi. Prestige image ang pinangangalagaan ni Honda. Si Toyota naman ang target nya is to become the vehicle of choice for every aspect. I hope u see wat i am referring to.

Kaya wag mamaliitin porket vios eh taxi. Bakit ang dami pa ding vios sa kalsada kung taxi db?

23km/L on city driving? This definitely is a joke. I’ve been driving the 1st and 2nd gen vios 1.3 MT for almost 6 years now and the best I got in city driving was 14 km/L. Ok na sana, nag exaggerate lang. Anyway, I agree with the others na mas gumanda ang design nya ngayon.

nawawala ang sanctity and exclusivity ng brand ng car kapag ginawang puv ang mga ito the readon why some loses interest in buying brand of cars na ginawang taxi …ikaw like mo bang gawin taxi ang bmw o ferrari mo? yes mercedes ay ginawang taxi sa us at europe, but mercedes are dirt cheap over there dito lang naman sa pinas ito expensive…

You know what guys? i think i like the built and itsura tama sa unang tingin akala mo honda civic/city na sedan…i think kung mag upgrade ako baka ito na kelangan ko ng palitan tong honda jazz ko na 2008, parang feeling ko ang luma na ng hatchback ko…but i still like the honda city/civic …

nga lang worried ako after a year or 2 nakooo…taxi na lahat ang mga to! wala na ang sosi factor na dating dahil lahat ng makasalubong mong taxi ay ganyan ang itsura, napapaisip nga tuloy ako hahaha…

Ok lang naman gawin siyang taxi. Alam mo ba kung bakit yan ang binibili ng mga taxi franchise? Kasi ang Toyota ay subok na ang tibay, quality, at mura ang spare parts. Kadalasan, yung base model kinukuha nila. Kung gusto mo mas maporma, kunin mo yung automatic na 1.5. Marami na accessories at maganda na ang mags.

A hindi ka sosyal. “Exclusive” lang yung Jazz mo right? Sabi mo “nawawala ang sanctity and exclusivity ng brand ng car kapag ginawang puv”. So yung Jazz mo na nagkalat sa daan, since hindi ginagawang taxi, ay exclusive? Huwag ka kasi masyado mapanglait. When reading your posts akala mo sobrang ganda ng oto mo Jazz lang pala naman.

Maging taxi yan o hinde. Nasa nag dadala yan ng sasakyan. Maganda nga sasakyan mo, puro naman gasgas kase maganda eh, mga tambay sa labas yan ang madaling tripan. Puro kung itsura ng sasakyan mo eh pang ordinary, hindi naman yan papatulan, pati ng mga carnaper.

Ang point ko eh. Basta umaandar yan oks yan. Ganda sasakyan mo wala kanaman pang gas. lol Parang sa cellphone din yan, maganda nga model ng CP delay naman pag bayad sa plan, nyak nyak

The problem is their pricing. How they can rationalize their entry level vehicle to be 300k more expensive than entry level Mitsubishi shows plain and simple greed. No amount of cosmetic upgrading will justify this amount.

The purpose of businesses is to make money. If you can’t afford one, it is not for you. Cars depreciate in value real fast, so if you are not willing to dispose of your income by splurging it on a highly depreciating non-essential product, do not blame the manufacturer that you won’t, or can’t.

Besides, if you are talking about the Mirage, then they are not in the same category. The Vios competes against the City, Rio, Accent and the Fiesta.
