Facebook has been receiving complaints from concerned groups and individuals over the past months regarding them allowing violent content to be viewed by anyone without warning. Because of these, Facebook now puts a cover over potentially-graphic videos that warns the user of its nature and asks for consent before it plays. This safety measure also disables those videos from auto-playing (a feature they rolled out previously). Users can simply search “fitness” in the app to find the videos and start a workout anytime. The workout videos feature instructors like Rebecca Kennedy, Ally Love, and Rad Lopez. Facebook is testing out a new feature called Instant Videos wherein you can watch videos without using your mobile data. Facebook told TechCrunch that the Instant Video test is available to a small percentage of Android users, and that the goal is to remove data costs when watching videos. Facebook has announced that they will be launching a platform for watching videos and shows called Watch after launching its Video tab in the United States. The shows included in Watch are live videos and recorded videos which follow a timeline or storyline.
