DJI has officially launched the Osmo Pocket 4P in the Philippines, introducing a new handheld camera with a dual-camera system, upgraded imaging capabilities, and a larger gimbal design. The Osmo Pocket 4P features a dual-camera setup consisting of a 20mm f/2.0 wide-angle camera with a 1-inch CMOS sensor and a 60mm f/1.8 telephoto camera with a 1/1.28-inch CMOS sensor. The camera is mounted on a 3-axis mechanical gimbal and includes a 2-inch rotatable OLED display, three built-in microphones, 103GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for additional storage. Other features include ActiveTrack 8.0, Advanced Smart Follow, gesture controls, Wi-Fi, USB 3.1 connectivity, in-camera timecode, and magnetic fill light support. DJI and Insta360 have taken their rivalry to court, with both companies filing patent infringement claims related to their handheld gimbal camera technologies. The dispute began after DJI filed two patent lawsuits against Insta360 in the United States, alleging that the company's Luna camera lineup infringes on several DJI patents. According to DJI, Insta360's Luna series copies key aspects of the Osmo Pocket lineup, including design elements and technologies related to gimbal stabilization, tracking, and camera operation. DJI is seeking a permanent injunction that would block the sale of Insta360's Luna cameras in the United States, along with monetary damages.
