This week is Mobile World Congress here in Barcelona, Spain and Xiaomi is hogging the spotlight on the freshly announced Xiaomi 15 Series at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona. This year's Xiaomi 15 combines cutting-edge technology with a sleek design, positioning itself as a strong contender in the flagship smartphone market for 2025. For one, the relatively smaller form factor, glass construction material and powerful hardware makes the Xiaomi 15 a unique and more attractive device. Design-wise, Xiaomi has already created a polished look to this number series that is distinctive and familiar. Since the release of the Xiaomi 13, most of the design changes were merely polishing and minute tweaks up until the Xiaomi 15. In its 4th year of partnership with Leica, Xiaomi continues to improve its camera system with a triple-rear sensor highlighted by a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 900 sensor, an f/1.62 aperture with optical image stabilization. The system uses Xiaomi AISP 2.0 computational photography platform and enhances image quality using AI-powered algorithms. As for video recording, the Xiaomi 15 has a wide range of capabilities -- from 8K at 24fps and 30fps, to 4K @ 60fps with slow-mo of 1080p @ 960fps and 720p @ 1920fps.
