Xiaomi has announced the global launch date for its next flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 15 Series, scheduled on March 2nd.
That is a day before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) kicks off in Barcelona, Spain. With that, Xiaomi is likely to hold its global launch event there, as it’s quite a common thing to do for many phone makers participating at MWC.
In 2024, two out of three models in the Xiaomi 14 Series made it to global markets — the Xiaomi 14 and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The Pro variant remained exclusive to China.
However, for the Philippines, the brand only brought the base model Xiaomi 14. It remains to be seen whether this year’s release would follow the same trend or will Xiaomi finally consider bringing the Xiaomi 15 Ultra locally.
A live image of the phone leaked in January, and it appears to retain the design cues from its predecessor.
Additionally, rumors suggest it’ll pack a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1-inch sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 50-megapixel short-range telephoto, and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto.
In terms of performance, the phone will likely be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and it’s said to feature a 6,000 mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
Xiaomi has yet to announce more event details, so keep an eye out for the latest updates!
