Rumor has it that Xiaomi's MiUI will be replaced with a new operating system (OS) called MiOS. It seems Xiaomi has trademarked the name MiOS and the mios.cn domain. Word on the street is that Xiaomi may follow Huawei who have launched their own Android Open Source Project (AOSP) based OS. What do you think of Xiaomi having their own AOSP based OS? Along with the launch of the latest Xiaomi flagship smartphone, the brand also announced the latest MIUI 12.5 global update. The MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 will begin rolling out to the select Xiaomi devices starting Q2 of 2021. Moreover, the brand now uses the ‘MIUI Light Cone Motion Effect Architecture’ compared to MIUI 12.
