Xiaomi recently launched two new selfie-centric smartphones to the Redmi line in a press event in New Delhi, India. These aren't necessarily new handsets though but rather rebrands of their Chinese counterparts, The Redmi Y1 is a rebrand of the Redmi Note 5A (which we already reviewed here) while the Redmi Y1 Lite is a rebrand of the Redmi Note 5A Prime. Aside from these devices Xiaomi also announced the global release of MIUI 9. The Redmi Y1 is powered by a 5.5-inch HD IPS Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 435 processor, Adreno's 505 GPU, 3 or 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of Internal Storage, Android 7.1.2 Nougat, and a 3,080mAh battery. The Redmi Y1 Lite, on the other hand, is a watered down version of its sibling. 8,999 (~Php 7,145.83) for the 3GB+32GB variant while the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite is priced at Rs. Both devices will be available starting November 8 and will be exclusively sold at mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Homes and across Xiaomi's offline retailers.
