In a bold move to retain old subscribers, Globe Telecom has announced a trade-in offer for all iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 owners who got their handset from Globe before (whether prepaid or postpaid).
Details of the trade-in promo will be available in specified Globe Stores (they’ll have one in Bonifacio High Street) starting tomorrow, December 16, 2011.
The trade-in price hasn’t been revealed yet but could be done on a case-to-case basis, depending on the condition of the old iPhone.
Globe has set up a trade-in scheme for existing iPhone users who want to upgrade their Apple devices for the ultimate experience. Users of Globe-issued iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 in good working condition can trade-in their units at a specified trade-in value, which may be applied and treated as a discount for qualified purchases or availments of iPhone 4S at designated Globe stores and launch venues on December 16, 2011. The scheme applies for all existing prepaid and postpaid subscribers of Globe.
Aside from the trade-in, Globe subscribers can also get a voucher which will entitle them to a 20% discount when they purchase an original iPhone 4 case. The price slash is available until December 31.
Globe prides itself with high-profile subscribers and even presented no other than the President of the Republic of the Philippines the first Globe iPhone 4S in the country.
Taking part in this phenomenon is Philippine President Benigno “Noynoy†Aquino III himself, who was the first subscriber to receive his iPhone 4S from Globe as part of his loyalty reward. PNoy, a long-time Globe subscriber since his days as Representative of the 2nd District of Tarlac, renewed his Globe subscription for another two years.
Another exclusive freebie for Globe subscribers availing of the iPhone 4S are free mobile applications for the ultimate smartphone experience. By getting their iPhone 4S from Globe, subscribers can enjoy games, social networking, lifestyle, entertainment and sports apps all for free by simply texting REWARDS APP to 4438. An exclusive app for Globe subscribers using the iPhone 4S who want to check their balance is also available for free. Through this app, users can subscribe to a wide array of text, call and mobile browsing promos with a simple touch on the screen. Just text IPHONE to 2222 for free to download the app.
If you’re still on a contract with Globe but wanted to go for the iPhone 4S, this offer is an interesting opportunity.

Now that you’ve got competition on your hands, your loyal clients are suddenly valued customers and not schmucks after all…ehh, Mr. Ernest Cu?
Yeah, these same LOYAL clients who were told they had to apply for a new line in order to get an iPhone 4.
Starting Dec. 16, iba na ang mundo (globe), Mr. Cu..iba na.
Name: Jbl says:
Hi sir yuga. I think wrong information toh. I was excited when i read your post. Then i called the globe hotline. The agent named Peter said that we must be out of contract or have finished the lock in period before we can trade in or swap our old iphones to the new iphone 4s
galaxy s2 says:
Sows. I’d rather buy a Galaxy Note rather than this piece of shit. Android FTW!!

mas mahal prepaid nya kesa Smart.
TriadWarfare says:
I would advise anyone NOT to buy the iPhone 4S as it has a recurring battery issue that it will only last for half a day even if it is on standby.
My cousin who works in Singapore has that issue and even if she update it, the issue still persists and she regrets for buying this piece of crap.
I doubt the Philippine version of this phone will fix the issue. Anyway, stress test the phone for one day if that issue persists on your 4S, either demand for an immediate replacement or go back to your old iPhone. If the standby battery life is shorter than the iPhone 4, something’s wrong with your phone.
@boifan21 You’re nothing but a fanboy and you have no place in this world. Stop insulting Android phones as if your referring to Android as cheap knockoffs. There’s a lot of things my entry level Android phone can do that the iPhone cannot do, but this is not the place to start a flame war. I suggest you shut up and keep your biased opinion to yourself
keibiem5 says:
My friend went to Globe store in Trinoma a while ago. She was told that you could get an iPhone 4s via trade-in with Php 15,000 discount from the prepaid kit’s SRP.
fedxing says:
my year old iphone4 + ~19K = iphone4s??? LOL! i don’t think ‘s’ is worth that much!
Mac says:
I went there and the lady said that if I want to trade my iphone 4 which still has a lockup period of 1 year, I need to upgrade my plan to 5k. She recommended getting a prepaid kit instead and deduct the 15k from my old phone. The other alternative she recommended is to get a new line at mas mura pa daw… kalokohan ng Globe talaga! sheez… btw, they don’t have stock of 64GB of iphone 4s already
coachjojoc says:
29 fu__kin’ big ones?
No, Mr. Cu…you haven’t changed at all. You still think we’re idiots.
nexusboy says:
i just got my white iphone 4 16Gb around 6 months ago for about 30 thousand pesos and they value it today for a measly 10 thousand pesos? ganun pala ang resale value pag apple? super baba naman. so not worth it to upgrade to 4S.
Marcdown999 says:
Selling iPhone 4s for only 37.5k. text me 091510*****
leemar says:
if you hAVE iphone 4, no need to upgrade to 4s kasi di naman noticeable ang difference, speed yes, but the the iphone 4 is not slow, its fast actually, 4s just faster, 5mp camera is ok too, 8mp is better nga lang, pero if you have dedicated camera naman, that would be fine,
siguro kung naka 3gs ka , upgrade to 4s kasi makikita mo talaga ang lake ng agwat ng pagkakaiba, pero kung from iphone 4 to 4s, waste of many many many money…
perci intalan says:
Ano ba tong mga Pinoy tech blogs na to puro iPhone articles, wala na bang iba? So overrated tong phone na to, mga barista lang naman gumagamit nyan or mga oldies, or mga mayayabang!!!
tbor says:
what is iPhone? lol. not worth upgrade from ip4… just my 2 cents on this phone. madami parin mas ok na dual core and quad core(coming 2012) out there with better specs.
Phillip says:

Raffy says:
I sold my iphone 4 16gb for 25k and bought iphone 4s 64gb for 40k sealed and locked to globe not a bad deal if i may say so.
to raffy says:
where did you sell your iphone 4 for 25?
rA says:
Ask ko lang po.kung pwede akong kumuha ng plan 1799 ng globe for ip4s na 32gb. student palang po ako. And i can pay the bills. Anu po ang requirements na kelangan kpg student palang? reply po. tnx!
kevin says:
@rA
I have the same situation as yours. But I did not hesistate to come to globe and they said that since you are still a student, you don’t have a work (unless you are a Working student) because you need a proof of billings and 2 valid IDs, If you know what I mean. :)
Crepe says:
