Smart drops BlackBerry Plan to Php599/month

Listen to article

Good news for Smart subscribers who are still using BlackBerry. In a recent post on their Facebook fan page, Smart has announced it significantly chopped its BlackBerry UnliData Monthly charges from Php1,200 down to Php599.

In addition, the BBM Only plan is also reduced by more than 33% making it only ₱99 instead of ₱150. As a bonus, Smart is also throwing in free 15 minutes worth of net voice* on the monthly subscription and 10 minutes^ on the daily one.

This recent move from Smart brings their offerings at par with that of Globe’s pricing and to up ante a bit their giving a free net voice in the mix. We did notice however that Smart seemed to have dropped their weekly offering for Lite Social, Lite Email and BBM only which costs a hundred for the first two and ₱70 for the latter.

^ For Prepaid subscribers, to use the free minutes of BBM Only Plan, dial *2207+11 digit mobile number of the person you are trying to call. (ex: *220709181234567)

* For Postpaid subscribers, to use the free minutes of BBM Only Plan, just dial the 11 digit mobile number of the person you are trying to call.

but for their freedom plans, P1200 na ang unli blackberry – from P1000 nung initial offer ng plan. :D

Aren’t they supposed to apply the rate across all their plans?

Safe to say that Globe still has the lowest BBM plan for Php 499. Nice move though.

After 100 years, Smart has finally lowered down their BlackBerry rates. I’m interested to know what made them realize and do this. This is definitely good news for Smart subscribers (me not included).

Nice! I hope Globe can also offer their 99 Pesos BBM Chat only to PREPAID subscribers. Currently, they only offer that to Postpaid subscribers. Other than that, it’s similar to what Smart offers.
