HBO Go to be replaced by Max, to launch in the Philippines

HBO Go will soon be replaced by a new streaming service from Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) with Max.

Hbo Go Max Philippines

Formerly known as HBO Max, WBD’s Max will be replacing the streaming service of HBO Go. Max will be arriving in the Philippines on November 19, 2024. It can also be streamed in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

“Building on successful launches in the US, Latin America and Europe, Asia Pacific represents the next phase of Max’s globalisation, making Max available now in over 72 markets with more to come in 2025,” stated by CEO and President of Global Streaming and Games at WBD JB Perrette.

There are three plans that the new streaming service will have in Malaysia:

Max Mobile

  • Stream on 1 device
  • Viewing is limited to phone or tablet
  • HD 720p resolution
  • Up to 15 offline downloads

Max Standard

  • Stream on 2 devices simultaneously
  • Available to more devices including TVs
  • Full HD 1080p resolution
  • Up to 30 offline downloads

Max Standard

  • Stream on 2 devices simultaneously
  • Available to more devices including TVs
  • Full HD 1080p resolution
  • Up to 30 offline downloads

Max Ultimate

  • Stream on 4 devices simultaneously
  • Available to more devices including TVs
  • Up to 4K UHD resolution if available
  • Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, and HDR 10 on select titles
  • Up to 100 offline downloads

There has yet to be an announcement for Philippine subscriptions in Max.
