First announced back in March, the LG Infinia LX9500 is said to be the world’s first full LED 3D TV. LG Philippines has tipped us of the suggested retail price when the unit arrives in the Philippines this September.

The unit is very slim and sleek — just 22.3mm on the side. Works great as a flat 2D Full HD TV but does better as a 3D TV (when content permits) using active 3D glasses. There are two models — one in 47″ and another in 55″.

And since you’d want to hang this up on the wall, the unit comes with a wireless AV box (see photo below) which hooks up to the 3D TV wirelessly. The AV box can then be placed at the back, inside the closet or behind the sofa so you don’t see any wires at the back of the TV. Attach the box to your PlayStation 3 or Blu-Ray player and start watching movies or playing games on TV or hook up a WiFi dongle on the USB port at the back of the TV and you’re set to surf YouTube and other channels.

The LG LX9500 will ship to the Philippines this September for a suggested retail price of Php269,990 (55″). It comes with a Blu-Ray player and two 3D glasses (additional glasses costs Php6,000 each). I am told people have been waiting and already made reservations for this unit for several months now.

To produce 3D moving pictures several techniques are used for instance, Anaglyphic 3D, Polarization 3D, Auto stereoscopic displays and Alternate-frame sequencing. In recent televisions auto stereoscopic technology is used as it is without glasses and headgear. To view the 3D chain program glasses are considered as inadequate link, as with the advancement in technology, a special technique (Auto stereoscopic) is being used for screens and monitors which would facilitate the image separation for each eye.
