Here’s the reason why Facebook was down yesterday

Wondering why Facebook can’t be accessed yesterday afternoon? Here’s your answer.

Social networking giant, Facebook, suffered an outage yesterday which started at around 4PM local time and caused a bit of a frenzy over the Internet. The good news is Facebook was back online in a jiffy. The reason for the short downtime? A software glitch.

“Late last night, we ran into an issue while updating the configuration of one of our software systems. Not long after we made the change, some people started to have trouble accessing Facebook. We quickly spotted and fixed the problem, and in less than 30 minutes Facebook was back to 100% for everyone. This doesn’t happen often, but when it does we make sure we learn from the experience so we can make Facebook that much more reliable. Nothing is more important to us than making sure Facebook is there when people need it, and we apologize to anyone who may have had trouble connecting last night.” said Facebook in an e-mailed statement.

Facebook has 1.28 billion monthly active users and 1.01 billion mobile monthly active users as of March 31, 2014. Approximately 81.2% of their daily active users are outside the U.S. and Canada.

  1. these is so funny. facebook users are too stuuuupid.they almost lost their lives when facebook suddenly offlines.

    • I almost lost my life to your post T_T

    • facebook users are stupid? FYI, may mga taong ginagamit ang facebook thru business means and situations like these could compromise their business stuffs. Siguro, yung mga teenagers tinutukoy mo, but not all fb users are stupid. At pakiayos rin ng spelling mo kapag mag e-english ka, or better yet mag tagalog ka nalang kung pinoy ka.

    • OMG! Your Inglis nakakapatay ng Abuzalzal.Do some more! Para lahat ng lahi mo mawala na.

    • please spare us of your english… lol

    • Hey you Pipoy, so you wanna be famous like me?
By mimicking Jimmy Santos I see.
But there can only be one master baiter.
Who’s well love by the girls and haters.
So move over playah coz you’re not yet ready to be a slayah!

  2. I use facebook that much lol n twitter for promotions c:

  3. Not the exact reason we are expecting though, “system glitch” is a pure white lie :)

They won’t tell us that it was hacked or someone did it intentionally.

    Just saying.. :)

    • Maybe that depends on what one expects. If one expects Facebook to say things the former wants to hear, then that person will likely be disappointed if the latter doesn’t.

While it’s possible that Facebook might’ve been compromised, surely it’s also possible those guys told the truth re: software glitch. Or, is that idea just too hard for one to believe for whatever reason?

      Just saying. ;)

  4. Manlalait ka nalang mali mali pa grammar mo!
    Kaw tuloy nagmukang tanga :p

  5. Hmmmm? Troll post or bugok talagang mag-english? We’ll never know.

  6. Pwede po magpa demo ng facebook sa office namin?
