Lily drone startup shuts down, to refund customers

Lily, the throw-and-shoot camera drone, wasn’t able to push through production due to lack of additional funding.

Announced back in 2015, the Lily promises to be the world’s first throw-and-shoot camera and has the ability to chase the owner using a tracking device which can be worn on the wrist. Although, through an email, the startup announced its shut down and automatic refund of pre-order payments.

The reason behind it was the inability to raise a supplementary funding to be used for the start of production. The drone was supposed to be available by early 2016 but it met delays. It was able to make prototypes to start a beta program, though.

The Lily is supposed to be out for $999 with pre-order pricing for $499 only.
