There are countless apps designed to bring the Game Boy experience to your phone, specifically those emulator apps that basically not legal. Now, there’s an Android smartphone case that can go full retro and play Game Boy cartridges on your Android smartphone.
The Smart Boy Development Kit by Hyperkin turns Android smartphones into handheld consoles that can play Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. You just have to plug it into any appropriately-sized Android phone running KitKat 4.4.4 or above via microUSB and you’re good to go. The retro case also features a fully functional D-pad as well as A and B keys and runs games featured on the original Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges.
The kit is currently available for pre-order from the official Hyperkin online store, with a price tag of $60 (~Php2,800) and a planned release date on December this year.
