At the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025 in Boao, Hainan, vivo once again demonstrated its commitment to technological innovation by unveiling its new Robotics Lab and debuting its first mixed reality headset, vivo Vision. As a strategic partner of the event for the fourth consecutive year and a recent addition to the Boao Forum for Asia Board of Directors, vivo leveraged the prestigious platform to showcase its Blue Technology Matrix, which includes BlueImage, BlueLM, BlueOS, BlueChip, and BlueVolt—emphasizing its forward-thinking approach across multiple tech domains.
During the “vivo Release Moment” session on March 25, Hu Baishan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at vivo, delivered a compelling keynote titled “Humanity in the Future of Technology by vivo.” Hu explained that the mobile phone industry is a microcosm of China’s broader technological innovation and that vivo’s evolution over the past three decades mirrors this dynamic progress. He highlighted three core business philosophies, long-termism, humanistic thinking, and a focus on collaboration, that have driven the company’s success in serving over 500 million users across more than 60 countries.
Hu stressed that advancements in AI and robotics are converging to bridge the gap between digital connectivity and physical capabilities. With this vision in mind, vivo has established its Robotics Lab to harness its decade-long BlueTech experience in areas such as AI large learning models, advanced imaging, and real-time spatial computing. The lab will concentrate on developing the “brain” and “eyes” of robots, targeting consumer applications in personal and home use. This initiative aims to take technology out of the laboratory and integrate it into everyday life, addressing real-life scenarios and user pain points through gradual breakthroughs and continuous innovation.
In addition to its robotics efforts, vivo made a significant splash by unveiling vivo Vision, its first mixed reality headset. The MR headset marks a major milestone in vivo’s exploration of immersive technologies, offering users a blend of digital and physical experiences that promise to redefine interaction with content. This innovation aligns with the company’s broader strategy of integrating advanced imaging and AI capabilities across its product lines.
Adding further excitement to the event, vivo announced that its upcoming flagship imaging smartphone, the vivo X200 Ultra, has been honored with the title of “Official Smartphone of Boao Forum for Asia.” Set to launch next month, the X200 Ultra will integrate vivo’s latest imaging technologies and further solidify the brand’s leadership in the competitive smartphone market.
vivo’s extensive showcase at Boao Forum 2025 underscores its vision of a future where robotics and mixed reality play pivotal roles in everyday life. By continuously pushing the boundaries of innovation and collaboration, vivo is setting the stage for transformative advances in technology that could soon reach households around the globe.
