GMA unveils Android digital media set-top box and DTV prototype

GMA New Media Inc. (NMI), GMA Network’s technology arm recently unveiled their upcoming product which combines the features of a DTV and an Android-powered digital media set-top box.

The prototype was recently presented at the IMMAP Digiconn. The device can receive DTV transmissions especially from GMA-7 and GMA News TV, while at the same time can turn an ordinary TV into a Smart TV using the Android platform. According to GMA, the device can play on-demand content, run chat applications, and games such as Angry Birds.

Hindi lahat ng DTV channels ang makukuha nya? Thats illegal. Dapat lahat ng set top boxes ng isdb-T ay kayang maka receive ng lahat ng available free to air channels. Better nga kung pwede mag cast ng content.
