iPhone 17, 17 Air will reportedly sport the same OLED displays as iPhone 16 Pro models

The new rumor mill surrounding Apple’s next iPhone lineup points to a significant display upgrade.

Specifically, all iPhone 17 models—including the base and Air variants—will purportedly use the same high-end OLED display found in the current iPhone generation.

According to Instant Digital, the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup will feature Samsung’s ‘M14’ OLED panels. These are the very same display panels used in last year’s iPhone 16 Pro models.

For context, the “M” refers to Samsung’s OLED displays designed for flagship devices, and the number “14” indicates the level of high-performing materials used to craft such display panels.

Fortunately, adopting higher-end panels for the standard iPhone 17 and 17 Air would confirm our previous report, which claimed that these models will finally feature a higher refresh rate.

The next iPhone launch is still months away, and things could change before then. Whether the high refresh rate will remain exclusive to the Pro models is still to be determined.
