I’m almost decided that I will be getting this phone already. My budget is 6-8k only. Im choosing between Zenfone 5 and CM cosmos force. But when I found out about this phone, and checked its specs, i’m almost sure that I will be getting this one. My only concern is its keyboard. Is it hard to use ba? And installing a 3rd part keyboard doesnt work that well din daw. Pls let me know your thoughts m1 users. Thank you.

The stock keyboard is very decent. 3rd party keyboards work. As what others have said, the one people refer to was NOT the international version of the device.

Got my m1 note last march 10. All i can say is its bang for the buck! Ang tagal maubos ng battery continous gaming from 7am to 2pm and meron pa ako 20% battery. Even with games requiring performance from the cpu and gpu. Hindi rin umiinit ang phone. Pati yun igzo ng sharp ang linaw. Same ram with asus na ddr3. Matipid sa battery consumption. Internet connection is very fast as well. All praise talaga ako sa m1 note! :)

The MT6752 should have an advantage over the Z3560 because it’s ARM based. The MT6752 SoC will have less App crashes than the X86/X64 since most apps in the Playstore are ARM based compatible (MTK, Qualcomm, Samsung SoC)

Correct! and considering that x86 is using an emulator to emulate apps, there is certainly an overhead on Intel processors. Battery and performance may take a hit on it and Considering that you’ll be buying the 1080p 5.5 inch version of Zenphone 2 with 3000mAh. I guess I’d rather go for Meizu with the Mediatek CPU though GPU performance is on the side of Zenphone 2.

Meizu has a bigger battery mAh and a much more efficient SoC and much superior IGZO screen with PSR tech that’s certainly is a plus if you want your phone to last till midnight. Though the OS and the non-expandable memory storage is a bummer.

Lollipop Android version fully supports x64 and x86 without the use of emulator. in Kitkat below, its true that they still need to transmute x86/x64 scripts to scripts arm scripts thats why zenfone 5 eats a lot of battery. but in lollipop it is now fully supported. no emulation happening. dare to say this.

KA
Kazeo-san · 11 years ago

I was referring to the ARM translation layer that’s translating ARM script for x86-powered Android devices which in other words is an emulator. Though almost all android apps are written in java which Intel chip can handle without any emulation, apps that has NDK binaries for ARM would require the emulation, Most likely games and other apps. Current offerings from Intel are efficient and consumes less power compared to it’s predecessor however ARM is designed to run as efficient as possible at a give power compared to x86 that’s mainly designed to give the best performance at any power.

the whole ’emulation’ thing sounds BS to me. may reference ba kayo tungkol jan, if yes, pahingi naman. ^_^

afaik, walang emulation na nagaganap since most Android apps are written in pure Java (which means fully cross platform). then there’s those apps with parts of the code written in C/C++. if you’re observant enough, you’ll notice within the Apk file na may ‘lib’ folder, dun mo makikita yung non-Java codes enclosed to a subfolder named the architecture it is intended for. normally if you have an ARM device, playstore will give you the ARM version unless the App developer chose to make the App unified across platforms, makikita mo rin yung subfolder for other architectures such as MIPS, x86, x64, armv8 etc. I am no App dev, Kernel at ROM dev lang ako but this is hoe I understand things. feel free to argue with me kung sa tingin nyo mali ako. and btw, don’t get this ‘Emulation’ wrong with the Android x86 Emulator for PC.

From the benchmarks I found online, I found the ff:

Geekbench

Intel Z3560: Single core: 713.8 Multi-core: 2124

MediaTek MT6752: Single core: 808 Multi-core: 3734

So, there is no distinct advantage of Intel Atom (Zenfone 5) to the ARM A53 (M1 note) cores.

distinct advantage of z3560 Quadcore vs MT6752 Octa Core??? dual core is actually enough to power them down, but if you are so particular with the game, powervr or Zenfone 2 is more powerful than Mali T760 of M1 Note

Agree with this. I’m very skeptical of buying these cheap phones that do not offer good after sales service. On paper they look good but what happens if you bought a lemon? I wouldn’t want to wait months and months just to have my phone repaired or replaced.

with Novo7tech as its distributor in the Phil, parang wala pa naman akong negative feedbacks na nababasa about them and the products they sell. or baka hindi lang talaga ko naghahanap.

let’s see what the real Asus Zenfone 2 will be pagdating sa PH lalo na sa official price.
