I was with Ajay all evening last night at Starbucks Adriatico in Malate for some very confidential undercover project. :p
Thinking that the Starbucks branch there had Airborne Access internet, I brought my laptop with me so we could do some online stuff. I was mistaken.
However, there was this wifi access point available somewhere which my laptop detected. The name of the network suggested that it was from Meridian (or SmartBro) but I was surprised I was able to connect to the network. Surfing wasn’t any good though as I could not get anything.
A few re-connection tries later and my browser was pulling some web page. I really though I got in but again got surprised again that I was redirected to the Smart Bro Portal page. I took a screen shot below:
Was that supposed to happen? I entered my Airborne Access account hoping that, since Smart/PLDT also owns AA, I could login successfully. Nay. What if I use a SmartBro account?

sa mga namumroble ma sa pag connect sa router if you have 3 pc madalilang ie clone mulang ung mc address ng pc kung saan galing ung smartbro mo gagana na yan kung hindi namn try to set a static ip to your router pro dapat lista mo muna ung ip na nasa piso mo just go to comndpromt just type ipconfig /all pra makuhamo lahat ng dns nya

Sa una lang mabilis after a few weeks jan na mag sisimula of slowing of your connection. Ginawa ko na ang lahat Defrag, Clear cookies,history, and etc. every day yan ganon parin talga napaka bagal. 3mb files 121kbps dati but now 20kbps.

everybody arguing what is d’best connection between smartbro and globe… my suggestion is
first check your location
2nd ask neighbor who knows the product
3rd check the consistency of their connection offered
4th check the company back ground
last check the contract before you signed
because they always offer hundred percent excellent connection but if you try to get their service your actually disappointed because of your high expectation with their service
and you are lock-in with their contract…
what next “mapipilitan ka ituloy kontrata mo sa kanila…
if you experience this ayaw na nila ipaputol contract because you are lock-in with them…
get a hard copy of consumers bill of rights for your protection…

@juriel It’s “UP TO” 2Mbps, not necessarily 2Mbps. And when you say up to, it means it can only get up to that point, but it could go as low as 0. Smartbro sucks.
Tama po kayo, up to 2mbps. promotional lang po yan. To the unknowing subscribers of plan 999 up to 2mbps, which i applied for last Nov. 22 2010, Dapat po:
1. 2Mbps Canopy po ikakabit sa inyo at hinde 1Mbps canopy na tulad ng unang kinabit nila saken. (Baka makauto)
2. ito po ang settings sa QoS Tab ng Motorola 2Mbps Canopy. If you cannot access your canopy, naka lock po ito. (Pero pwede ny pa din ma unlock, hehe)
Maximum Downlink Burst Rate: 1700kbps
Maximum Uplink Burst Rate : 300kbps
(1700 + 300 = 2000kbps or 2Mbps <– 2MBPS Canopy)
Pinanood ko nung una ung installer na nagkakagay ng setting sa antenna ko niagay nya 700kbps – downlink at 300kbps – downlink. Ayun pag speedtest nila hanggang 700kbps lang nakukuha nila kc nga 1Mbps canopy lang ang kinabit nila. Baka makauto ng subscriber na basta meron lang internet OK na. Pasensya sila kasi medyo matal na po ako gumagamit ng net. Saka meron ako mga friends na open ang canopy. Na aacess namin sa default IP na 169.254.1.1 ng canopy na ito. Kung hinde nyo maaccess ung canopy malamang sa malamang ginagago na ng smart ung settings ng canopy nyo. At any given time na may magreklamo ng slow connection at nabubulunan na ung AP kung saan nakakonek din kayo, pwede nila baguhin o bagalan ung net nyo para bumilis ung nag reklamo tapos ikaw naman ang babagal. Inuunlock ko ung canopy ko, pinalitan ko nga password ng admin at root saka ko sinet ng tama ung canopy. Yes, na uupgrade nila ung 1mb canopy to 2mb canopy pero sang katutak ng reklamo muna. Sana sa umpisa p lng sana 2mbps canopy an agad nilagay nila para hinde na ko nabwiset saka wag nila ilalock ung canopy para nakikita ko ung gingago na ng smart ung settings ng canopy ko. Marami po paraan para ma unlock at makita setting canopy nyo. Bago nyo po unlock research muna po kayo sa tamang settings ng 2MB canopy ng smartbro dami po sa net. Marereset to default kc tulad saken. Binaba ko ung antenna, nilagyan ko ng palara at bulak(pampasikip) para ma shorted ung pins ng reset port ng canopy (sa loob ng canopy) wag po dun sa RJ45 connector port. Pagkalagay ng pang short, plug in canopy power supply, type 169.254.1.1 makakapasok na kayo sa canopy. Then make changes na maayos sa canopy. save changes then reboot. Bago nyo reboot alisin nyo na ung palara shorting method ko
set nyo an din ung password ng root at admin sa sarili nyong password. Goodluck. Kung di pa din kayo makapasok sa canopy try change your IP to 169.254.3.3 subnet mask 255.255.255.0
press OK. and try 169.254.1.1 again (explore)

smart bro plan 999 gamit ko….sa gabi starting 1am til 8am ko lang nagagamit net connection after that magiging limited connection or di ka na makaconnect sa net….buwisit talaga ang smart……ginagawang tanga ang tao eh…..pls suggest what to do….nagbabayad kami monthly wala namang kuwenta ung net connection….
sino meron alam paano yong telnet sa cmd para makuha ung mga MAC ADDRESS sa mga users sa Access Point.

1.nabasa ko sa reciept mali pala address ko…kaya wala me siguro bill dumarating..
2.lumalabas sa smart site na bill ko daw is 1999 pede ko bayaran ng 600 something para di ma cut which is 999 lang po pinakabit ko..bakit 1999 firstbill ko..
3. and eto mabigat di na me mkalogin sa smart before me open computer my accnt was already been block daw..i cannot connect to router pero meron ako sa single pc which is sa isang pc lang pero kong sa loptop and other computer block yung acnt ko..
pasuggest nman mga master..sa concern ko para may bala me pagsugod me sa wireless smart..
