But you must have a wimax enabled laptop or desktop computer in order to use this technology.

Thanks Sir Abe for featuring this. I wish our area (Bukidnon) will be covered soon. I am a subscriber of Broadband Wireless, accdg to the marketer my connection is up to 512kbps at P995 per month. they provided me with the new 3g Router B933 + outdoor antenna. But I’ve got bad experience with this provider. No idea where to contact them. I know their website but hanvt checked it for contacts. My location is good, and I’ve got full signal and can achieve HSDPA connection, however connection is still intermittent. Many “request time-out” upon using the ping command. However I have downloaded DVD for one night from rapidshare using premium account. Connection and Downloading are better between 1-5am but during the day the connection is bad. I cant use the speedtest.net. It takes to long to open it, no way of determining the speed of my internet during the day. Thanks.

I have requested Wimax since 5/23. They stopped sales from the Tagaytay office and instead offer 3g. I told the guy that I wanted the 1mbps wimax.

Globe, please if you are not going to have any modems available… don’t do press releases saying it is now available.

    Dissatisfied Prospective Globe Wimax Subscriber.

If you know the email address of the Globe Wimax
Head, please let me know? I would like to file
    a personal complaint.

Master YugaTech, I have a Dell Studio XPS 13 laptop and its WiMax enable (Mobile Broadband enabled and yes, it has a sim card slot), can I avail of the service without any required equipments (USB Modem) and with WiMAX can I use internet anywhere I go in the metro?

I think it’s possible as long as your built-in 3G/Wimax modem has the proper device drivers and dialer. All you will need is the settings.

Thanks Master YugaTech! I’ll go to globe now, and inquire for the service.

It’s junk when companies use tech terms such as WiMax, but don’t actually offer of have the capability to offer WiMax speeds. The speed they are offering can be accomplished with 3G … 3G can offer 7 times faster speeds. Everyone get excited for WiMax that is slower than standard modern 3G on a decent network.

from mindanao…particularly zamboanga… had my connection for almost a week.. so far ok naman yung speed delivered as promised 512 kbps. sumosobra pa nga minsan e umaabot pa ng 600+ kbps.

A Globe guy just came here in our place yesterday to offer testing for their WIMAX in our aread (Lapulapu City Cebu). They are processing my account for a free 3 week trial 1MBps connection for 995, no obligations to continue service. I told them that I wanted to test the reliability of their service compared to my current SMARTBRO 384kbps for 999.

If I end up a satisfied WIMAX user, Im not sure if i would still cancel my smartbro. It’s so hard to deal with CS and techs. I dont want any charges.
