There’s been numerous discussions by subscribers of Smart Bro to flood the NTC with email complaints about the service, or lack thereof, from Smart WiFi. Details of the plan are posted in my Smart WiFi entry here.
The plan is simple. Every DSL subscriber will email NTC (ntc@ntc.gov.ph) on December 24, 2005 and file complaints against Smart together with stats/records of downtimes and intermittent connections.
They’ve been spreading the word in my blog and other blogs where SmartBro is being discussed as well as forums and other bulletin boards.
This is by far the most sensible and most professional move by Smart subscribers. My blog has received over 1,300 comments and close to 40,000 page views just because of Smart Bro yet most of the comments were rants and cussing (where tons of them were already deleted). I hope that my blog has in a way help spread the word and enable subscribers (including would-be subscribers) to communicate and unite on this issue.

Sya nga po pala, bukod sa hindi nako pinagbayad ng termination fee eh natanggap ko narin ung full refund ko na P1,988 from the SMARt wireless center. Basta ba isuli nyo ng kumpleto ung antenna or equipments nyo eh. Mismong manager pa ng SMART ang nag-assist sa problem ko at prinioritize dahil nga sinulatan ko NTC at sinabon sila.
Awa ng Dios eh masaya na ang aking Bagong taon, at naibalik pa ung pera ko. hayy. sana lang eh makahanap naman ako ng stable pero mura na broadband ayaw ko na ng PLDT o SMART me phobia nako jan. Sayang di available Globelines dito sa Soldiers Hills, Alabang eh. baka Cable Internet nalang. ok kaya un?
Dibale mag-research muna ako para hindi na ako maperwisyo at maloko ng tulad ng SMART Microwave nayan ehe.

The Canopy IP Address
1. Open your web browser and enter your Canopy IP address on the address bar.
You will be brought to the Canopy Homepage.
2. On the left side of the Canopy page, you should see a navigation box. Click Configuration.
3. Click on the Quality of Service (QoS) Tab. You should see your
Bandwidth Settings. Take a look at your Sustained Uplink Data Rate
and Sustained Downlink Data Rate. By default they should be both at 256. See?
Those are your default download and upload limits. Kinda sucks right?
4. Change nu both of the Uplink and Downlink values to 500.
pero you can set the values to any number you like as long as their total would be 1000
(eg: you can have your downlink: 600 and uplink: 400, or you can have downlink: 700 and uplink: 300).
However, The recommended value for both uplink and downlink rates is both at 500.
Click the Save Changes button.
5. The screen should say Reboot Required. So press the Reboot button.
By this time, your Local Area Connection icon on your tray area (botton-right side of your desktop)
should have an X mark on it. Just wait for a while until that X mark disappears. yun na un!
6. You’re back at the Local Area Connection Properties window. Again Press Ok.
Wait for a moment for the changes to take effect.
7. Open your web browser and try to test your speed at speedtest.net or testmy.net to
confirm your new download and upload speeds.

SmartBroKEN, what can I say? Told the NTC about it and nothing happens, prayed to GOD about it and still nothing happens. What is it with Smart Bro the they are impervious even to GOD. Oh God! Hi ask ko kung active pa tong post na to??!
Im having problems with my smarbro canopy kasi. plan 999 ung plan ko, they told us from 312kbps they upgraded the service up to 1mbps. 1st 2months ng service ok nman we’re getting 300 max to 500plus kbps..
BUt after that we noticed na bumagal ung connection eto yung time frame= 11am-11pm we’re getting 40-60kbps 0_0 so san yung sinasabi nilang upgrade??
then 11pm-10am ok nman we’re getting 300plus max of 500plus kbps.. Kala ko ba up to 1mbps na??
i tried to call the technical support service people (technical nga ba?? o csr lang?) nung 1st time ko na encounter ung ganong isyu.. after 2 months ganon pa din til now .Evrytime i ping a website withn timeframe na 11am-11pm laging request timed out(SUPERINCONSISTENT).yung reason nila sakin my sira DAW ung base station nila (upgrade, technical problem s base station,whatever).But after two months tumawag ako dahil wlang pagbabago sa connection ko; base station pa din daw..when i heard it as in… WTF!!! 2months na nakalipas ganon pa din???
Im also playing online game at halos di makagalaw character ko sa sobrang lag, sa facebook naman para maload ko yung farmville halos tapos ko na makain lunch ko nagloload pa din.Di na nga ako nagyoyoutube kasi sobrang bagal magbuff ng videos.
The problem is maghihintay pa ba kami ng 11pm ng gabi para makuha ung connection na mejo ok but still its not enough kung totoong upgraded na sa 1mb kc 300-500plus kbps nakukuha namin. I know may catch Kasi “UP TO” 1mb pero diba dapat makuha ng mga consumer ang 60% ng speed na binabayaran nila??! Napakaunfair kasi e, pano ung mga tao na alam lang ay gumamit ng internet explorer at magbrowse??! basic troubleshooting ay di nila alam, aasa na lang ba sila sa mga Representative ng SMART na NAKASANAYAN NA GAMITIN ANG REASON NA BASE STATION??!!
Share ko lang po to, I have nothing against the company gusto ko lang marinig nyo ang nangyayari and to guide also the consumer kung sino man ang balak magpakabit ng internet,for those people na gumagamit ng smartbro at walang problema maswerte kayo.
