Roxas wants Mobile CCTVs in Metro Manila

Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas wants Mobile CCTVs (closed circuit television) in Metro Manila in order to ensure peace in order during big events in the country.

Roxas has ordered the Philippine National Police (PNP) to acquire Mobile CCTVs to help monitor parts of the Metro and immediately address problems during crowd-drawing events such as the President’s State of the National Address (SONA), EDSA People Power Revolution, and the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

The Mobile CCTVs will transmit images to mobile command posts which will then send it to either the district police offices or the National Headquarters of the PNP.

In addition to Mobile CCTVs, Roxas has also ordered the installaton of additional CCTVs in all 38 police stations in Metro Manila and to coordinate with the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) to further utilize their 210 CCTVs installed in different areas in the metropolis.
