RCBC, Visa launch tap-to-pay at LRT-2 stations

Starting today, passengers can use NFC-enabled devices with Google Pay, Visa or Mastercard debit, credit, and prepaid cards to enter and exit LRT-2 stations.
Under the promo, commuters who pay their regular LRT-2 fare using eligible payment methods will receive cashback, reducing the effective fare to ₱1.
The promo is available to RCBC Visa and Mastercard credit cardholders, who can receive up to ₱300 in cashback during the promo period.
The launch adds another cashless payment option for commuters and supports the government's push for more convenient and digital public transport services.

Starting today, passengers can use NFC-enabled devices with Google Pay, Visa or Mastercard debit, credit, and prepaid cards to enter and exit LRT-2 stations. GCash QR is also accepted as a payment option. The rollout is part of ongoing efforts to modernize public transportation and encourage the use of digital payments in the Philippines.

To mark the launch, RCBC introduced the PISO Fare Cashback Promo, which runs until July 31. Under the promo, commuters who pay their regular LRT-2 fare using eligible payment methods will receive cashback, reducing the effective fare to ₱1. The cashback will be credited back to the original payment method after the transaction.

The promo is available to RCBC Visa and Mastercard credit cardholders, who can receive up to ₱300 in cashback during the promo period. Meanwhile, holders of the MySSS Card powered by RCBC DiskarTech can enjoy up to eight LRT-2 rides per day under the offer.
