Nokia Lumia 620 gets IP54 treatment with new shell

Nokia has introduced a new IP54-certified protective casing or shell for the WP8-powered Lumia 620, giving it protection against dust and splashes of water.

The CC-3061 protective case has a rigid interior shell made of polycarbonate while the exterior is made of TPSiV (thermoplastic Silicone vulcanizate) which is more flexible and rubber-like. And just like the other Nokia Lumia 620 replaceable shells, the protective casing has been cast using a dual-shot process.

“The protective shell improves the dust and splash protection. The gaps between the camera window and the shell as well as the display and the shell are better sealed, and the mesh that covers the loudspeaker is denser, making it harder for water or dust to get in.” says Harri Vuolle, Lumia Product Manager at Nokia.

The protective casing will come in grey with grey exterior and yellow interior. It will arrive at the end of the month in Europe with a price tag of 25 EUR or around Php1,300. For more information about IP rating, you can check out this link right here
