Due to the current state of fuel prices, mobility is much less accessible than it was just a few months ago. The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) aims to assist its members through loans for e-bike and e-scooter purchases.
Whether it’s to buy the scooter, the bike, or any form of two-pedaled electrified mobility, GSIS offers to cover the full cost of the unit up to an amount of PHP 300,000. We’re fairly confident that there are a wide variety of options within that price range – catering to your specific needs and preferences.

The loan period is 36 months or 3 years, with an interest rate of 5% per year.
Based on the coverage, we’re sure that this loan program will cater to commuters who want to control their own travel (while not breaking the bank), and possibly also car owners suffering from the rise in petrol prices.
GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso had this to say: “We want our members to be able to move through their communities without that financial weight.”
While this could spur on a monumental increase in e-bikes and scooters we see on our roads, we can only hope that being at the helm of any vehicle requires accountability, responsibility, and caution. Should the system be properly enforced, then travel via these electrified vehicles may be more enjoyable and flexible than ever before.
