The Sony RX1R III, a premium compact camera that promises full-frame power in a pocketable body.

On paper, the RX1R III is a beast. It packs a 61MP full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor (yup, the same one from Sony’s flagship mirrorless line) paired with the BIONZ XR image processor. With its fixed ZEISS Sonnar T 35mm f/2.0 lens*, this camera is all about giving creators pro-level image quality without lugging around big gear.

Sony also added AI-powered Real-time Recognition Autofocus, which can track faces, pets, and even vehicles with pinpoint precision. There’s Step Crop Shooting that lets you switch between 35mm, 50mm, and 70mm equivalent focal lengths instantly, plus a macro mode for 20cm close-ups.

Other highlights include 12 Creative Looks, a 2.36M-dot OLED EVF, USB-C fast charging, and a lightweight magnesium alloy build.

The Sony RX1R III is priced at PHP 279,999. Early adopters from August 29 to October 17 will get a 64GB SF-G64T SD card worth PHP 10,500. Pre-orders require a PHP 5,000 downpayment at Sony Centers and select authorized dealers, with claiming starting October 17 and full payment due November 17, 2025.
