Instagram gets new icon, simpler design

Instagram has rolled out a visual upgrade to its popular app now sporting a new icon and simpler design.

One of the first changes you’ll notice is the icon. They ditched the vintage camera-look and now has a simple camera icon against a rainbow gradient background. Instagram has also implemented the icon design to its other apps: Layout, Boomerang and Hyperlapse.

Next is the interface. You will no longer see that familiar blue theme, instead everything’s in black and white except for the photos, profile photos, and notifications. Instagram says that the simpler design puts more focus on your photos and videos without changing how you navigate the app.

To get the new look, just go to the App Store and Play Store and update the Instagram app.
