Google Reportedly Cancels Pixel Tablet 2 Development

Listen to article

Google might be rethinking its tablet strategy. According to insider sources cited by Android Authority, the Pixel Tablet 2, codenamed “kiyomi,” has reportedly been canceled. The decision was allegedly made due to concerns about market demand and profitability.

The Pixel Tablet 2 was rumored to feature Google’s Tensor G4 chipset and was expected to launch in 2025. It was said to include both Wi-Fi-only and 5G variants, along with an official keyboard accessory for productivity.

However, reports now suggest Google decided to halt development before the tablet could make it to market.

There was earlier speculation that Google had scrapped the Pixel Tablet 3, a model rumored for 2027 with a Tensor G6 chip. However, sources have clarified that the canceled device is actually the Pixel Tablet 2.

This leaves some uncertainty around Google’s commitment to its tablet lineup. With no official statement from Google, it’s unclear whether the company plans to continue with future Pixel tablets or focus its efforts elsewhere.

We’ll update this story if Google provides an official response. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts—does Google’s rumored decision to cancel the Pixel Tablet 2 make sense? Share your opinions in the comments below.
