OPPO Enco Q1 (Banshee Edition) Hands-on

A few months ago, OPPO introduced the Reno Ace Gundam 40th Anniversary Edition. It’s the perfect phone for those who are fans of the Gundam franchise. Why stop there, though? How about audio? The good news is they also released the OPPO Enco Q1 (Banshee Edition) Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones. We finally got our hands on one, so check our impressions below.

The OPPO Enco Q1 (Banshee Edition), as the name suggests, is based on the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee, so it’s black with gold accents. It comes in a nice package with the Banshee’s face on the front. Inside is the Enco Q1, extra ear tips, USB-C charging cable, and manual.

The OPPO Enco Q1 (Banshee Edition) is pretty much identical to the ordinary Enco Q1 except for the colors and markings on the neckband on the earbuds themselves.

It features a matte finish with a smooth coating which is effective in repelling fingerprints and feels soft on the skin. For controls, the multi-function power button, LED notification, volume buttons, and ANC button are all placed on the left side of the neckband. Found beneath it is the USB-C port for charging.

Pairing is easy if you own an OPPO phone, thanks to the quick-pairing feature. Just switch the Banshee on, and the OPPO smartphone will automatically detect it. If you’re not using an OPPO phone, don’t worry as you can still use this headphone.

When it comes to features, it’s the same as the standard Enco Q1. It uses a Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling that combines both feed-forward and feedback microphones to maximize noise reduction. In our experience, it’s effective and drastically improves the music listening experience. Audio quality is great and features three types of audio effects: Music, Movies, and Gaming.

For connectivity, it uses Bluetooth 5.0 with a wireless range of 10 meters. It also has IPX4 water resistance so it can withstand sweat or light rain. It also boasts a long battery life with 15 hours of playtime in ANC mode. Charging, on the other hand, takes 2 hours.

The OPPO Enco Q1 (Banshee Edition) is only available in China for CNY 599. Unfortunately, OPPO won’t offer it in the Philippines, just like the Reno Ace Gundam due to license limitations. But if you happen to be in the country and looking for wireless headphones, especially if you own the Reno Ace Gundam, I highly recommend this.
