The Philippine National Police–Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) has launched a new Information Management System (IMS). The database aims to improve the agency’s campaign against car theft and other road-related crimes.

The IMS will serve as a centralized, nationwide directory for vehicle records. Through it, officers can quickly verify if a car or motorcycle has been reported stolen.
The system is also designed to speed up the process of securing HPG clearance for the public, ensuring greater transparency. PNP-HPG acting director Colonel Hansel Marantan said the platform highlights how technology can improve public safety services.
He explained that the IMS will allow improvements in data sharing across law enforcement agencies. In other words, there will be stronger coordination in monitoring stolen vehicles and tracking organized groups operating on national roads.
Marantan described the IMS as a key tool that will make police operations more efficient. He also confirmed that the HPG is preparing for the system’s nationwide rollout in the coming months.
